Volleyball Recap: Decatur Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Plainfield last Tuesday, Decatur Central came back down to earth. The Hawks came up short against the Southport Cardinals on Monday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-20, 25-12.

Mike Norton paced Decatur Central's offense, picking up four kills. Norton got some help from Kenyo Rivera and his six assists. Rivera also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with RJ Ison, racking up two apiece.

Decatur Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Southport, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Decatur Central has already played their next match (against Whiteland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Southport, they will take on Marist at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
