Preview: Malvern Prep Friars vs. Hun Raiders
The Malvern Prep Friars will be home for the holidays to greet the Hun Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Malvern Prep has five straight wins, Hun has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, Malvern Prep faced Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Malvern Prep snuck past Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic with a 49-44 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Malvern Prep has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Hun fought the good fight in their overtime match against Life Center Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 71-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Malvern Prep's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Hun, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
