Football Game Preview: Mayfield Wildcats vs. Chardon Hilltoppers

Mayfield hasn't had much luck against Chardon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. Mayfield has given up an average of 25.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mayfield came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of Riverside. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.

Although Mayfield took the loss, they still got scores from Ryan Eppich and Jayden Haynes.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chardon). They breezed past North to the tune of 44-6 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won eight in a row.

Chardon now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mayfield, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.
