Softball Recap: Edisto Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Edisto unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 15-7 to the Williston-Elko Blue Devils on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Sarayah Hart was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Garrick, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Williston-Elko and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Edisto will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Whale Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Williston-Elko, they will square off against Jefferson Davis Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
