High school softball pitching win leaders: Alabama junior tops list with 32

Taniyah Brown of Brewbaker Tech has more than doubled her win total from last season.

A standout all-around athlete from Alabama leads the nation in pitching victories according to the MaxPreps leaderboards. Taniyah Brown, a hard-throwing right-handed junior, has recorded 32 victories for Brewbaker Tech (Montgomery), which opens the Class 5A playoffs Wednesday.against Satsuma. 

After going 15-6 as a sophomore, Brown is 32-5 with a 1.59 ERA. She's struck out 290 in 202 innings while giving up 106 hits. She's also the team's leading hitter at .500 with 58 hits, 69 RBI, 15 doubles and 16 home runs. Brown also plays basketball for the Rams (39-5). 

As of Tuesday, two other hurlers have recorded at least 30 wins: Riley Vaughn of Mars Hill Bible (Florence, Ala.) and Anyssia Mendoza of Mathis (Texas) with 31 and 30, respectively.
