Softball Recap: Valley View Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Valley View got themselves on the board against Delaware Valley on Tuesday, but Delaware Valley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Warriors. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Taylor Cawley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Zoie Krupovich was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Emily Moyles also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Valley View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delaware Valley only posted an OBP of .077.

Valley View's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Delaware Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will square off against North Pocono at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Delaware Valley, they will face off against Scranton Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
