Basketball Game Preview: Symmes Valley Vikings vs. Eastern Eagles

Symmes Valley is 2-8 against Eastern since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings will square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Symmes Valley has given up an average of 54.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Symmes Valley came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by Wheelersburg 76-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered since December 30, 2025.

Meanwhile, Eastern beat Oak Hill 41-34 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Oaks: they've now won seven in a row.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Symmes Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Symmes Valley came up short against Eastern in their previous meeting back in January, falling 61-49. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
