Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Feehan Shamrocks vs. Bishop Hendricken Hawks

The Bishop Feehan Shamrocks will take on the Bishop Hendricken Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Feehan will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

If Bishop Feehan beats Bishop Hendricken with four runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Shamrocks came out on top in a nail-biter against Mansfield on Friday, sneaking past 4-3.

Jack Gasse tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, Bishop Feehan's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Mordas, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Bishop Hendricken faced Cumberland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Hawks fell just short of the Clippers by a score of 4-2. Surprisingly, this marked the Hawks' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Dylan Poloski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits.

Bishop Feehan's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Bishop Hendricken, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-3.
