Basketball Recap: Choteau Takes a Loss

Choteau lost against Fairfield back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Choteau Bulldogs lost to the Fairfield Eagles on the road by a 78-62 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Eagles are ranked fourth).

Deron Lear continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fairfield, almost dropping a double-double on 30 points and nine assists. Lear is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. J. Porter Hatch was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Choteau's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Fairfield, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Chinook the next time they take the court. Choteau will host Chinook at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Fairfield will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th.
