Baseball Game Preview: Lumberton Raiders vs. Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears

The Lumberton Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lumberton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Little Cypress-Mauriceville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lumberton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bridge City just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 7-4 to the Cardinals.

Lumberton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talon White, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave White a new career-high. Ryan Verde was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Little Cypress-Mauriceville waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 5-1.

Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 15-6-1. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Lumberton might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Little Cypress-Mauriceville when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Lumberton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
