Basketball Recap: Forest Hills' Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Forest Hills lost against Anson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anson Bearcats. While the Yellow Jackets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bearcats 14-8 in the first quarter.

Forest Hills' loss came despite strong showings from Josh Huntley and K.J Chambers. Huntley went 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points, while Chambers almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Huntley a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Cam Winnegan, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Jayden Little continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Anson, going 9 of 13 en route to 26 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Little has scored at least a third of Anson's points. Taviane Robinson was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double on ten points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocks.

Forest Hills' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9. As for Anson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Forest Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Forest Hills surely won't give up without a fight. As for Anson, they are taking a road trip to face off against North Stanly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.4 points per game this season.
