Rolesville hasn't had much luck against Wake Forest recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rams will head out to take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Rolesville needed a bit of extra time to put away East Wake. They skirted past the Warriors 11-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rams needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Carson Ashoo looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Rolesville's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 7-10 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Max Liriano was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter DeSilva, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Rolesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest got the win against Heritage on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Carson Crider looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aramis Perez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Brittain, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Wake Forest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.7 runs. As for Rolesville, their record now sits at 9-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rolesville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wake Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rolesville might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Wake Forest when the teams last played on Monday. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
