Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Comes Up Short

Notre Dame Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Southview Cougars. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Southview scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17, 25-23.

KylieEmma Obeto paced Notre Dame Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Obeto got some help from Annabelle Pierce and her 19 assists.

Notre Dame Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Southview, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Notre Dame Academy and Southview could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 336th) will meet Centerville (ranked 50th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Southview will face off against Ross at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (437 vs. 72).
