Baseball Recap: St. Francis Gets the Win

St. Francis won the last time they faced Soledad and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sharks came out on top against the Aztecs by a score of 4-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Nash Horton was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for St. Francis: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Horton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Javier Fonseca, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Noah Magana was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

St. Francis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Soledad struck out nine times.

The victory got St. Francis back to even at 11-11. As for Soledad, their record is now 8-14.
