Baseball Recap: Faith Academy Charter Patriots vs. North Hills Christian Eagles
Faith Academy Charter had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-3 to make it five. They came up short against the North Hills Christian Eagles, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in April.
As for North Hills Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.
For North Hills Christian's part, Gracin Craig made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Craig has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. He is becoming a predictor of North Hills Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-11 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Chris Barringer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for North Hills Christian: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke McLaughlin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
