Softball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

Foothill extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 10-11. They lost 13-1 to the Carondelet Cougars. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Foothill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Genevieve Duncalf, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Carondelet, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The result was nothing new for Carondelet, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

On Carondelet's side, Mylei Lopez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Lopez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Norie Umene, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Kiley Abrojena was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Foothill will challenge rival Amador Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carondelet is set to face off against their familiar foe California at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
