Baseball Game Preview: Hoxie Mustangs vs. Newport Greyhounds

The Hoxie Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Newport Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hoxie has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Newport will come in with three straight wins.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hoxie's offense. They came up short against Rivercrest on Wednesday, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Newport was able to grind out a solid victory over Harrisburg on Tuesday, taking the game 5-2.

Newport's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Hoxie, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Hoxie suffered a grim 26-1 defeat to Newport when the teams last played back in March. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
