Baseball Game Preview: Tupelo Tigers vs. Caddo Bruins

Tupelo and Caddo are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Tigers will take on the Bruins at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The last five games Tupelo has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Tupelo took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Varnum, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers came out on top against the Whippets on Tuesday by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Meanwhile, Caddo owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Rock Creek as they made off with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won 12 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tupelo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Caddo, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-6.

Tupelo couldn't quite get it done against Caddo when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
