Basketball Preview: Essex Trojans vs. King & Queen Central Royal Tigers
The Essex Trojans will be playing at home against the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. King & Queen Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Essex, who comes in off a win.
Essex had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 victory over Colonial Beach on Thursday. The win was just what Essex needed coming off of a 71-47 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, King & Queen Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by Carver College and Career Academy 99-52. King & Queen Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-28.
Essex's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for King & Queen Central, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
