Baseball Game Preview: Center Vikings vs. Ignacio Bobcats

Center hasn't had much luck against Ignacio recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Vikings will welcome the Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. Center has given up an average of 19 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Center is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Friday. They came up short against Dolores, falling 24-7. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Meanwhile, Ignacio entered their tilt with Nucla on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Mustangs 14-2. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

William M was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabe A, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ignacio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games.

Ignacio pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
