Masconomet Regional hasn't had much luck against Peabody Veterans Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chieftains will face off against the Tanners at 4:00 p.m. Masconomet Regional is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Masconomet Regional came up short against Gloucester and fell 9-4.

Emma McCormack was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peabody Veterans Memorial). They were the clear victors by a 23-4 margin over Winthrop on Wednesday. The Tanners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Peabody Veterans Memorial moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Masconomet Regional, they now also have a losing record of 5-6.

Masconomet Regional suffered a grim 16-4 defeat to Peabody Veterans Memorial in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Chieftains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
