Basketball Recap: Meridian Picks Up 16th Straight Win at Home

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Meridian's strategy against Cobden on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Meridian Bobcats blew the Cobden Appleknockers out of the water with an 86-29 final score. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meridian to victory, but perhaps none more so than AJ Flenoid, who went 5 of 6 en route to 10 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Flenoid a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Russell, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points.

Meridian's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for Cobden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-11.
