Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westfield). They secured a 71-67 W over the Oakton Cougars on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Cougars are ranked 20th).

Westfield moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Oakton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oakton beat Westfield by a score of 61-33 on Friday.
