Smithfield has gone a perfect 3-0 against Western Branch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Packers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Western Branch will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Smithfield extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Packers put the hurt on York with a sharp 6-1 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Smithfield's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while York are ranked 82nd).

Meanwhile, Western Branch kept a clean sheet against Oscar Smith on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Tigers. The matchup marked Western Branch's most dominant victory of the season.

Western Branch now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Smithfield, their win bumped their record up to 9-0-2.

Smithfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Western Branch in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Packers repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
