Baseball Recap: Mundelein Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mundelein entered their tilt with Carmel on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Corsairs. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Corsairs, too.

Dylan Trahan looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Earing, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 contests. Brandon Marano was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Mundelein's win bumped their record up to 15-5-2. As for Carmel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mundelein will head out to face off against Lake Zurich at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Carmel, they will venture away from home to take on Benet Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
