Basketball Recap: Longmont Trojans vs. Windsor Wizards

If the Longmont Trojans were riding high off their 54-29 takedown of the Mead Mavericks last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Longmont took a hard 56-38 fall against the Wizards on Thursday. Longmont has struggled against the Wizards recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Longmont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cole Corner, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Scheck, who scored six points along with two steals.

Leading Windsor to victory were Madden Smiley and Brady Kingsley. Smiley scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Kingsley scored 19 points along with two steals. Johnnie Reed was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Longmont's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Windsor, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.

Longmont will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greeley Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Windsor, they will be playing at home against the Spartans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greeley West is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
