Baseball Recap: Richland County Comes Up Short

Mt. Carmel hit Richland County with a eight-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Golden Aces, falling 13-3. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Aces apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Richland County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Hires, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Richland County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Mt. Carmel, their record is now 10-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland County will welcome Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will host Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Aces are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
