Basketball Recap: Goleman Drops Highest Score of Season Against Coral Gables

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goleman). Everything went their way against the Coral Gables Cavaliers on Monday as the Goleman Gators made off with a 62-38 victory. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Jasmin Brown was her usual excellent self, putting up 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Tift, who posted nine points along with seven boards and five steals.

Despite the loss, Coral Gables had strong showings from Kamaryia Dekle, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points and five rebounds, and Jenae McKinney, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points.

The win (which was Goleman's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. As for Coral Gables, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Goleman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-36 victory against Edison on the 18th. As for Coral Gables, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-33 loss against Killian on the 18th.
