Softball Preview: Christopher Cougars vs. Carmel Padres        
        
		
            
 The Christopher Cougars will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Carmel Padres at 4:00  p.m.
 On Thursday, Christopher came up short against Lincoln  and fell  4-1.
 Christopher got a good showing from  Danielle Keller, who   pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits.
 On the hitting side, Christopher saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Melissa Lugo, who  went 1-for-4 with a  triple and a  run.
 Meanwhile, Carmel waltzed into their matchup  on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp  11-1 win. With that  victory, Carmel brought their scoring average up to 6.5  runs per game.
  Allison Hacker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks). Hacker has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hacker was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kristen Mastin, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Angelina George, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Christopher's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Carmel, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 5-6.
