Baseball Game Preview: Rock Falls Rockets vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses

Rock Falls hasn't had much luck against Dixon recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rockets will square off against the Dukes & Duchesses at 4:30 p.m.

Rock Falls came up short against Genoa-Kingston on Monday, falling 11-4. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

AJ Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Austin Castaneda was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Dixon came tearing into Monday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Hawks.

Dixon got a big performance out of Exadrian Diaz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Diaz a new career-high. Jagger Kemp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Dixon pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Rock Falls, they now have a losing record of 9-10-1.

Rock Falls suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Dixon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
