Lamar has gone 9-1 against Heights recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Texans will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lamar's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cesar E. Chavez 56-0. The win was nothing new for the Texans as they're now sitting on four straight.

Cade Mansour was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Kaze Bryant, who rushed for 84 yards and one score.

Lamar's run defense was locked in: Cesar E. Chavez could only muster -0.2 yards per carry. The Texans' run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.53 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 15.93 on average over their last five games.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Heights' strategy against Cesar E. Chavez two weeks ago. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bulldogs blew the Lobos out of the water with a 60-0 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Lobos are ranked 1008th).

A big part of Heights' victory came down to the chemistry between Kobe Miles and his top target Kaden Cole. Miles threw for 95 yards and four TDs while Cole picked up 74 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Cole a new career-high. Phelan Powell helped Miles out on the ground, rushing for 69 yards and one score on only eight carries.

The win got Heights back to even at 3-3. As for Lamar, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Lamar strolled past Heights in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 34-20. Do the Texans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
