Basketball Game Preview: Murray Tigers vs. Carlisle County Comets

Murray has gone a perfect 10-0 against Carlisle County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Comets at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Murray saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They walked away with a 61-51 win over Goreville.

Meanwhile, Carlisle County waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 53-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Comets have posted since December 26, 2025.

Murray better keep an eye on Wyatt Rickard. He was instrumental in Carlisle County's win, going 10-for-18 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Rickard's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Brennan O'Neill was another key player, shooting 45% from the field en route to 13 points along with four steals and three blocks.

Murray's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Carlisle County, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.

Murray was able to grind out a solid win over Carlisle County in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, winning 56-47. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Comets' Kylen King, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 23 points and three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Tigers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
