Basketball Recap: Northgate Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lovejoy on Tuesday, Northgate came back down to earth. The Vikings took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dutchtown Bulldogs on Friday. The Vikings have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Dutchtown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northgate will challenge Lovejoy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 68.57 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Dutchtown, they will square off against Newnan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 55 points in their last 20 contests.
