Football Recap: Carrboro Jaguars vs. South Granville Vikings

There's no place like home for Carrboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 7-6 win over the South Granville Vikings. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 41-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Carrboro wouldn't let South Granville keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Matthew Bien-Aise, Aiden Williams-Parker, Shiloh Smith, and Smith picked up one apiece. Williams-Parker also set a new season high mark in total tackles with nine.

Despite the loss, South Granville still got an impressive performance from Jamar Hicks, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. Hicks got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards.

The victory got Carrboro back to even at 3-3. As for South Granville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Carrboro will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Starmount at 7:00 p.m. on October 11th. As for South Granville, they will face off against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
