Football Recap: Northwestern Wildcats vs. Conneaut Area Eagles

Northwestern extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They received a blow as they fell 28-14 to the Conneaut Area Eagles. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Northwestern lost, don't look at Brody Bickenheuser. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

As for Conneaut Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Chance Meader and Aidan Ford. Meader rushed for 148 yards and one score while Ford rushed for 111 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. Those 148 rushing yards gave Meader a new career-high.

Northwestern has already played their next game, a 25-19 loss against Greenville on the 26th. As for Conneaut Area, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-12 win against Maplewood on the 26th.
