Recap: Momence Momence Athletics vs. Donovan/St. Anne
The Momence Momence Athletics scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Donovan/St. Anne 57-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Momence has posted since November 30, 2023.
Momence can attribute much of their success to Vaneza Ortiz, who scored 21 points along with seven steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ortiz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sydnee Vanswol, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Donovan/St. Anne still got an impressive performance from Kaelannie Sutherland, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Momence is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Donovan/St. Anne, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Momence will take on Urbana University at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Urbana University is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Donovan/St. Anne, they will head out on the road to challenge Gardner-South Wilmington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
