Basketball Game Preview: Port Clinton Redskins vs. Vermilion Sailors

The Port Clinton Redskins will face off against the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Port Clinton fought the good fight in their overtime match against Edison on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Chargers 57-53. The defeat continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Vermilion didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Oak Harbor on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory.

Vermilion found their leader in sophomore Mason Cooper, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 18 points and eight rebounds. Cooper also brought in his first three-point shooting accuracy of the season. Noah Penton was another key player, putting up seven points.

Port Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Vermilion, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-15.

Port Clinton strolled past Vermilion in their previous matchup last Friday by a score of 45-31. Does Port Clinton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vermilion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
