Basketball Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

Lamar and Melbourne squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Lamar had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Melbourne Bearkatz and fell 76-40. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Lamar still got an impressive performance from Ben Noonan, who posted 15 boards. Noonan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 52 games he's played dating back to last season.

Lamar moved to 30-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Melbourne, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Melbourne, they will face off against Osceola on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Osceola sitting on 13 straight victories and Melbourne on three.
