Basketball Game Preview: First Colonial Patriots vs. Green Run Stallions

First Colonial hasn't had much luck against Green Run recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The First Colonial Patriots will take on the Green Run Stallions at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in First Colonial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Friday, First Colonial came up short against Kempsville and fell 84-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (73), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Green Run waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They strolled past the Marlins with points to spare, taking the game 61-42. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Marlins are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

First Colonial's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Green Run, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

First Colonial was taken down by Green Run 71-38 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can First Colonial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
