Basketball Recap: Addison Budke Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Republic County

Beloit's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Republic County Buffaloes with a sharp 50-29 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Trojans have posted since January 30th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beloit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Budke, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 boards. With that strong performance, Budke is now averaging an impressive 10.5 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Olivia Wright, who posted 14 points.

Beloit smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

The win got Beloit back to even at 2-2. As for Republic County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Beloit will take on Ellsworth in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Republic County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thayer Central at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
