Softball Recap: Apple Valley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Apple Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 15-5 to the Sultana Sultans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Sun Devils have suffered since March 7th.

Hailey Macias was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Liza Lozano, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Apple Valley's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-5-1. As for Sultana, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apple Valley will square off against Oak Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Sun Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sultana, they will challenge Burroughs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Sultans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Burros have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
