Basketball Recap: Ball Tornadoes vs. Jesuit Tigers
Ball lost against Jesuit back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ball Tornadoes took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jesuit Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 445th in Texas, while the Tigers are ranked 84th in Florida).
Jesuit was led to victory by Tyler Caouette and Morty Hanlon. Caouette went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds, while Hanlon posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Caouette a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Ayden Hewitt, who put up eight points.
Ball now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Jesuit, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
Ball will challenge Texas City at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Ball is facing Texas City at the right time seeing as Texas City is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Jesuit, they will face off against Eagle Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
