Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Clifton-Clyde

Clifton-Clyde won the last time they faced Chase County, and Sevy Wurtz did her part to make sure it happened again. The Clifton-Clyde Eagles enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over the Chase County Bulldogs on Saturday thanks in part to Wurtz, who went 14 of 22 on her way to 42 points along with eight steals and seven boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clifton-Clyde's points.

Clifton-Clyde's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Chase County, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clifton-Clyde will welcome St. John's/Tipton Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clifton-Clyde knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully St. John's/Tipton Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Chase County, they will host Wabaunsee on Tuesday.
