There's no place like home for Hiawatha, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Atchison Phoenix on Saturday. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hiawatha was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15.

Claire Twombly paced Hiawatha's offense, picking up 11 kills. Twombly got some help from Adison Williams and her 21 assists. Williams also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Michaela Williams, racking up two apiece.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-14. As for Atchison, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Hiawatha wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] on the 20th. As for Atchison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Jefferson County North on the 20th.
