The Lawson Lightning will head out to face off against the Lawrence County Wildcats on Thursday. Lawson has given up an average of 28 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lawson came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Centennial, falling 45-20. The Lightning have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lawrence County was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 37-36 to Lincoln County.

Lawson will have to keep a close watch on Carter Pettigrew and Logan Clayton, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lawrence County's prior game. Pettigrew gained 131 total yards and two touchdowns, while Clayton threw for 387 yards and two TDs.
