Recap: Rise Academy Guardians vs. Fork Union Military Academy Blue Devils
The Rise Academy Guardians put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Fork Union Military Academy by a score of 85-73. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Rise Academy's one-point performance the game before.
Rise Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Devonte Atkins out in front who scored 30 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Atkins has scored at least 25% of Rise Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Trevonte Atkins, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Rise Academy has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. As for Fork Union Military Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rise Academy will square off against Fredericksburg Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fork Union Military Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th.
