Basketball Recap: Beechwood Comes Up Short

Beechwood lost against Covington Catholic back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Beechwood Tigers fell to the Covington Catholic Colonels 62-58. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Colonels are ranked third).

This is the second loss in a row for Beechwood and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Covington Catholic, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Beechwood will challenge Louisville Collegiate at 2:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Covington Catholic, they will venture away from home to face off against Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Covington Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
