Soccer Game Preview: Prairie vs. Aberdeen

The Prairie Falcons will head out to challenge the Aberdeen Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Prairie came up short against Camas on Monday, falling 8-1. While losing is never fun, Prairie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Camas are ranked 32nd).

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Aberdeen and Black Hills meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Aberdeen had just enough and edged out Black Hills 2-1.

Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Aberdeen, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Prairie was able to grind out a solid win over Aberdeen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prairie since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
