If Monte Vista Christian was riding high off their 42-6 takedown of Santa Clara last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs lost 48-28 to the Carlmont Scots on Friday.

Loss or not, Monte Vista Christian got some senior leadership from Nico Downie and Dominic Pierini. Downie picked up 261 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Pierini. threw for 423 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Downie showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 68 yards. Nate Collins was another key player, picking up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Vista Christian will challenge Everett Alvarez at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 866 yards in their previous games. As for Carlmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South San Francisco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
