Football Recap: Fieldcrest Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Fieldcrest lost against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights were outmatched by the Falcons and fell 34-6. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Despite the defeat, Fieldcrest had strong showings from Lucas Anson, who rushed for 134 yards, and Zach Overocker, who rushed for 71 yards and one score on only eight carries. Anson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Fieldcrest and nudges their season record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-0 Ridgeview/Lexington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 87.5% over those games). As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fieldcrest is set to square off against their familiar foe Warrensburg-Latham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley will challenge rival Ridgeview/Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
